When should I enrol ?
There's no time limit. You can even leave it to the last minute if you like. But if you also require accommodation with host families or in shared flats, the earlier you enrol the better it is.

Which is the next starting date of the course ?
Beginners: every 2 weeks - see course calendar
Non-beginners: every Monday

What should I expect the first day of the course ?
On your first day come to the school at 8:20 am. The first lesson will be diagnostic: beginner students will attend the first lesson in which the oral capacity and the understanding will be tested. Non beginners will take a written and oral placement test which enables us to class them in the appropriate level.

What is the typical timetable ?
08:45-10:15, 15 minute break, 10:30-12:00 or  12:30-14:00, 15 minute break, 14:15-15:45

I have a complaint to make. Who can I speak to?
For everyday problems, you can talk to your teacher in the first instance. For more serious problems you can speak to the Director of Studies.

I need to extend my visa. What do I need?
First check which visa you have now. If it is a Tourist or Student Visitor Visa you will have to go back to your country and apply for a new Visa. If you have a General Student Visa you can request an attendance letter from Accademia di Italiano and the supporting letter for a Visa extension (if you are extending your course at AI Milano).

When do I receive my certificate?
Your teacher should give it to you on the last day of your course. If this doesn't happen students can come to Reception and ask for a it.

I need to speak to my teacher. What can I do?
Please try to speak to your teacher when you are in class. If you urgently need to speak to a teacher outside class hours, please come to Reception and we see if they are available. Please note, Reception don't hold contact details of teachers when they are not in the school.

I have questions about my attendance, who should I ask?
You can speak to the Director of Studies via Reception.

I cant come to class today. What should I do?
If you are ill or if there are any other important reasons why you cant come to the school for more than 2 days, please ask for an "Authorised Absence Form" at Reception.

Can I change the course I am enrolled to a different one  or to one-to-one course?
No. Students are not allowed to change between courses. On no account can the tuition fee paid be transferred to individual classes.

I have some questions regarding payment. Who should I ask?
If you have booked your course through an agent please ask your agent. If you have booked directly with Accademia di Italiano Milan please come to Reception.

Can I take holiday during the course?
Yes. If you are booked for more than 24 weeks you can take a two-week or four-week break during the course. Please ask for an "Authorised Absence Form" at Reception. 

Can I end my course earlier and get a refund?
No. after the course has started no refund is applicable. The school will retain the entire tuition fee, even if the period of study is more than one month.

Can I change class?
If you are not happy with your class, first discuss this with your teacher. If your teacher suggests a change, please see a Director of Studies  via Reception.

I want to change or extend my accommodation. What do I do?
If you want to extend your accommodation please first ask your host for their agreement, and then confirm to Reception, the extension can be paid directly to your host. Extending a House Share, Host family or B&B depends on room availability and can't be guaranteed. If you want to change your accommodation, we need 2 week's notice.

I need to open a bank account. How do I do it?
Please come to Reception and ask for information.

Can I have discount on public transport?
Please come to Reception and ask for information.

I gave Accademia di Italiano as my correspondence address, how do I find out if I have any mail?
For letters and  parcel please ask Reception.

I lost something in the school, is there a lost property box?
Yes, please ask Reception.

I have a laptop, do you have wireless connection?
Yes, you need to ask for a login and password  via Reception.

What are the school opening hours?
Reception: Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 18:30 - Saturday 9.00 to 12:30.
