Fashion is a craft that has seen Italy at the cutting edge for more than 60 years. Its designers and firms (Armani, Gucci, Valentino, Versace, Moschino, Ferré, Dolce & Gabbana to name a few) have been dressing women and men of every social class in beautiful clothes, both haute-ldouture and prèt-à-porter alike.
Milan, the capital of Italian fashion, attracts thousands of students from every country to attend its famous Fashion Academies (like the Istituto di Moda Burgo, the Istituto Marangoni, the Istituto Europeo di Design, the Istituto Carlo Secoli). Classes in these institutes are mostly if not uniquely taught in Italian.

The Accademia di Italiano has developed Italian for Fashion courses designed for people who attend or have enrolled in Fashion courses, work in showrooms and fashion firms or who have a personal or professional interest in Fashion. The aim of these courses is to help them gain the necessary vocabulary and terminology used in the industry, along with insight into the history and field of fashion in general.

In addition to eventual subjects of specific interest for each student, the course themes deal with the history of fashion, famous stylists, different styles and types of clothes, fabrics and new clothing materials, colours, accessories, industrial and handcrafted manufacturing techniques.

The course concentrates on the study of the Italian language: the programme is the same as the Standard Italian Course (20 lessons per week) combined with 10 individual classes per week. At the same time, it focuses on tailor-made lessons created to meet the language needs of students and professionals of the Fashion industry.
